Women T20 Challenge 2022

Now that the Indian Premier League is coming to its business end, the focus is slowly shifting into the Women T20 Challenge.

What is Women T20 Challenge ?

It triangular series tournament conducted by the BCCI annually where in 3 teams take part and which usually lasts for 1 week. Over here the Women Cricketers of the country are divided in 3 teams and coupled with some international stars to give it flavour like the Indian Premier League. This tournament gives indian women cricketers a platform to come into limelight and an opportunity for them to showcase their talent.

Which are teams participating ?

As already mentioned 3 teams take part in this tournament. The teams are

The Trailblazers led by India prolific opening Batter Smriti Mandhana

The Supernovas led by Indian women limited over dashing captain Harmanpreet Kaur

The Velocity originally were led by India iconic face in women cricket Mitali Raj but since she retired from T20 format this year the team will be led by Ace Allrounder Deepti Sharma.

Format and Venue

The format of the tournament is T20 format in triangular one where in each team will play against once against each other and top 2 teams will then play the finals the winner of that match will be crowned champions. Now regarding the venue, every year the venue for this tournament keeps changing, this year BCCI has decide held this tournament in Pune Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

This tournament too will held in bio bubble restrictions for the players and as far as crowd are concerned same capacity might be allowed that was in place for IPL matches conducted on this same venue.
