IPL season 15 is upcoming soon. Each year IPL carnival starts with an auction where all franchise buys players according to their needs. This year IPL has a new flavor and avatar. IPL has got 2 new teams added to it. One is owned by CVC Capital Ahmedabad and the other is owned by RPGS Group Lucknow. Now the addition of 2 new teams means a mega auction is looming. Yes, the mega auction will take place on 12th and 13th February 2022 in Bangalore.
Normal auction times are exciting for fans but at the same time, nervous ones for players as their fate hangs in. We have seen some crazy paychecks hand over to players during auction times but at the same time, we have seen many big names going unsold too.
Here we will look for five top overseas players who might be disappointed in this auction.
1. Shai Hope
He is a wicket-keeper batsman from Caribbean Islands. Hope has been decent form for West Indies. At a Base price of 50 lacs, he might not attract many buyers as in his category he is not the first choice option and the franchise would prefer an Indian alternative.
2. Fabian Allen
The prolific West Indian all-rounder might go unnoticed in this auction. Allen has been a key part of the West Indies T20 setup and plays a vital role in the team. But when it comes to his IPL display it’s not that good. Allen is yet to find is mojo in IPL. Last season he was with Punjab where he only played 4 matches scoring only 6 runs.
3. Aaron Finch
The Austrian white-ball captain has been part of IPL for a long time. Finch played with RCB in the 2020 season where his performance was not up to his stands was eventually dropped from the team.
4. David Miller
David Miller is known as a hard-hitting South African batsman who can bat in the middle and lower-middle order. Since IPL 2018 his form and performance have dropped drastically. He was picked by RR in the last auction but hasn’t been good for them. It looks like Miller at his base price of 1cr might go unsold.
5. Eoin Morgan
Morgan was skipper for last year's finalist but when it comes is own performance that has been abysmal in ipl. At a Base price of 1.5cr, it looks highly unlikely that teams would go for him just for his captaincy.
