IPL Season 15: Auction Day 1

Finally, The D- Day has arrived. IPL Season 15 auction is upon us. This IPL auction is unique in many ways. This IPL season has got additional flavor by getting 2 new teams. The Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titians.

This IPL is going to be 10 team affairs. More teams mean more matches and more fun. But before all the fun starts today and tomorrow are very important days for these teams and their owners. Today the auction starts and all the teams will be looking to build a strong and stable team.

Today is the first day of the auction. Around 170 players will go under the hammer. All the big international stars will come out today and we can expect a bidding war for them. Likes of Shreyas Iyer, David Warner will fetch the big bucks for today. This first day will be crucial for all the teams as this day today will set the tone for them. Teams would like to get the best players possible out this first day today.

There are 62 sets in the auction, each set containing 9-10 players. The remaining purse of all the teams is already a well-known fact. Punjab Kings has the highest purse with 72cr, while Delhi Capitals has the lowest purse with 47.5cr. Punjab Kings can play the role of spoilsport for many teams today. Don’t be surprised if many big names go unsold as ipl auction each year gives us a lot of surprises and questionable calls.

All in all, this first day of auction will bring us all excitement and thrill while some nervous hours for players involved as all players will want themselves to get associate with a team so that they can play in grand league knowns as Indian Premier League.
