Indian Test Team and its future

Indian Team had a forgetful tour of South Africa. Team India went to South Africa as favourites. Everyone expected Team India to roll past a comparatively inexperienced South African Team. India started the tour in a fantastic fashion by winning the 1st Test match. But from there downhill the Indian Team begin. India lost the 2nd match and cracks in Indian batting were widened. Questions were raised on Senior players like Rahane and Pujara. India still backed them for 3rd test match but unfortunately, India lost the match and series too.

Since this series already surrounded backroom drama and controversy another controversy came up as India Test Captain Virat Kohli after the series loss announced that he would be quitting captaincy and would just play as a player in the team. The Indian team had many questions to answer regarding their performance in South Africa and mainly regarding senior players whose position was already in doubt.

BCCI decided not to comment anything now test team as two limited over series were lined up for the Indian team. Now as the test series against Sri Lanka is getting near rumours have started regarding the test team. BCCI has per reports are considering major overall in the Indian test team. According to reports BCCI has decided to axe 4 established test players from the squad as they want to give opportunities to youngsters.

The 4 players are Rahane the former vice-captain of the Indian test team, Mr. Dependable Pujara and Pacer bowler Ishant Sharma, and wicketkeeper Saha. BCCI has already communicated to Saha regarding his position and their plans to look younger keeper for the team.

Taking of Ishant Sharma, once he was head of this bowling attack but now he has just been reduced to squad player, and considering the depth in the bowling department Indian team wants someone else in that position. Coming to Rahane and Pujara they both have been underperforming for the past 18 months. Team Management has already given them long rope in the squad and knows want to invest in some other players.
