How teams fare after Day 1 Auction: IPL Season 15

IPL season 15 flavor started from way back, but the real game started yesterday on auction day. Teams started with an auction table with their respective retentions and their respective remaining purse. Every team had started the auction table fair and square. Teams wanted to build from scratch.

Let's look now look at what 4 teams (CSK MI RR and RCB) have got on after Day 1. Taking about Mumbai Indians they were quiet for some time. They lost their 1-2 key players like De Cock and Trent Boult. Mumbai Indians went on all-out after Ishan Kishan and got him for the whopping price of 15.25cr. Then Mumbai again went into hibernation for some time. Then Mumbai brought junior AB in Dewald Brevis. Then MI brought some Indian players like Murgan Ashwin and Thampi. Overall MI had a very quiet day and the huge purse left around 28cr.

Now talking about CSK they majorly went after the players which already played for them. Another crazy thing about CSK is they went mostly after Wicket-Keepers. CSK break their own record of buying players for 10cr, as they got Deepak Chahar for 14cr. They got back Robin Uthappa Rayadu and most important DJ Bravo. CSK too has a big purse left with them and they go big on day 2.

RR and RCB both had decent days at the auction table. RR again went after a lot of openers. Another interesting thing about RR is R. Ashwin and Jos Bulter will play in the same team. Also, RR got good bowlers like Yuzi Chahal and Prasidh Krishna, and Trent Boult. They went huge on Hetmyer and Riyan Parag. Now looking at RCB they got in their captain pick in Faf Du Plessis. RCB went big on Hasaranga and their golden boy Harshal Patel. They also got in Dinesh Kartik as their wicket-keeper.

All in all, this first day of auction will bring us all excitement and thrill while some nervous hours for players involved as all players will want themselves to get associate with a team so that they can play in grand league knowns as Indian Premier League.
