Ahmedabad Team name announced

As we all know there 2 new teams added to IPL this year. Last year BCCI held an auction for the sale of 2 new teams. In December 2021 in a team auction, 2 bidders won the bid. CVC Capital won the bid for the Ahmedabad team and the RPGS group won the bid for the Lucknow IPL team.

Now after the team was allotted they were made to choose 3 picks as their draft picks before the auction. Team Lucknow choose KL Rahul, Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi. Team Ahmedabad choose Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubham Gill. Now before the auction team was given a deadline of 31st Jan 2022 for announcing their team names and logo. Team Lucknow announced their name as Lucknow Super Giants and also announced their logo. But team Ahmedabad didn’t announce either their name or logo.

Now as the auction approached BCCI was forced to give notice to Team Ahmedabad that if they didn’t announce their name then BCCI will be forced to give them a name by themselves. As soon as this came out Team Ahmedabad rushed into action and yesterday finally the team name was announced. Team Ahmedabad revealed their name as Ahmedabad Titans.

After the announcement of the team name, social media was filled with emotions and reactions. Many people said this was a good name while others said the IPL team lacks creativity and didn’t like their name announced.

Later in the day, we heard that this was not the official name and the franchise may change the name before the auction date.
